There are many different ways to stay busy and entertained while at home. GRB students and staff have been doing their best to keep themselves busy and entertained as much as possible, despite having to spend the majority of the time in their homes.
Senior John Halstead said, "I've been riding my dirt bike, playing basketball and stuff like that in my yard and in the driveway, playing video games, and spending time with the people I love."
There are many negatives that come with the pandemic we're all currently living through, but there are ways to make these times a bit easier and more positive. You can spend time with loved ones, be active and go outside, be creative and make something, try to make a new food, or start watching a new show on TV.
"During the week, I spend a lot of my day doing school-related things and trying to teach my daughter her sight words since she is off to kindergarten in the fall. On the weekends, I spend time with my family. We have movie night on Saturday night and my husband and I like to play with our kids as much as possible. We also like to try and get some things done around the house," math teacher Mrs. DeRue said.
Learning something new or teaching someone else something new is a great way to stay busy. You could try teaching your parents or siblings something new or try calling a friend to teach him or her something new.
Senior Devanee Sabin said, "I've been doing my school work and going to work. When I have free time, I spend time with my family or Facetime my friends."
Many people believe social media and cell phones to be more negative than positive, but with the pandemic we're all currently going through, it has been a very positive and helpful way to stay in contact with family and friends.
Stay safe and busy, GRB!
