Students Perform in Oswego All-County Band

On January 17 and 18, 17 of GRB's students participated in a music festival.

The students prepared pieces ahead of time and attend the two-day festival with seven other schools within the county, performing a concert the following day.

This year, all-county band was held at GRB and organized by Mr. Caviness.

Mr. Caviness stated, "The conductor connected with students and gave the students a really good musical experience.''

The festival is a way for the students to grow with their musical abilities.

Mr. Caviness also said, ''That is why it is so important to pick the right conductor.''

The connection the students make with the conductor is often the most important part in the success of a good musical experience.

Junior David Cordone said, ''The band had a good sound and tone quality. I enjoyed it.''

The band is separated into two groups, the senior high wind ensemble and junior high band with students from seventh and eighth grade.

The host, in this case Mr. Caviness, was in charge of selecting two conductors to connect with the students to provide a memorable experience.
