Spring Sports Ahead at GRB

By Leah O'Hanlon

As the winter sports season comes to an end, GRB athletes are eager to transition into spring sports to finish out the year. Spring sports begin on March 16. Students can choose to try out for one of the many sports our school offers including softball, baseball, boys and girls lacrosse, boys tennis, and track and field.

Track and field coach Mr. Demars said, “I am very excited for track to start. We are returning most of our team from last year as we are a very young team. We are looking to improve on our performance from last year and hopefully qualify someone for Sectionals in every event this year.”

“For this year's tennis season I am looking forward to the new team members we will be getting as they hold much promise for our team as well as a fun season and personal progress with the sport," sophomore Kieran O’Hanlon said.

Senior Leiji Yeh who is also a member of the boys tennis team said, “I can’t wait for spring sports to start. I am very excited for tennis this year. Senior night, along with all of the matches, will make for a great season.”

Athletes wishing to participate in a spring sport can begin signing up for the upcoming season on February 17. Check with a coach for more information or check the Athletics page at fultoncsd.org.
