Fulton Swimming Kicks Off Season With a Win

By Ethan Abelgore

The swimming and diving team had its first meet of the season on Tuesday, December 3. It was at home against Mexico.

Some of the fastest times were the medley relay team of senior Nate Archer, sophomore Tyler LaDue, freshman TJ Clayton, and junior Jaden Patterson with a time of 1:47:29. LaDue also had a 1:08:03 in the 100 meter breast stroke.

For diving, Corrine Clarke placed second overall with 175 points.

A highlight from the meet was when an official gave TJ Clayton the wrong signals at the wrong time when the race began. When the other swimmers were halfway across the pool, he dove in to steal the race and placed first.

The final score was 116-70, resulting in a Fulton victory and starting the season off with a win.
