Student Senate's Pennies For Patients fundraiser will begin soon at GRB.

Student Senate Prepares for Annual Fundraiser

By Tanner Vant

According to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, studies show that 40% of pediatric cancer patients are diagnosed with various forms of blood cancer. To help support those fighting Leukemia and Lymphoma, GRB's Student Senate is currently preparing for the Pennies for Patients fundraiser. This fundraiser is held by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

The LLS is a non-profit research organization designed to help find a cure for those diagnosed with cancer. The LLS research organization has invested roughly $1.3 billion dollars into their cutting-edge technology to find the best and most personalized treatment for each individual. Not only do they do research for cancer patients, but they also help support and guide those who are diagnosed with cancer to navigate through their treatment.

The Guided Study Hall that raises the most money will win a pizza party from Domino's. Student Senate's base goal is to raise $2,020 for the research foundation.

Student Senate Secretary senior Andrew Smith said, "Pennies for Patients is our annual fundraiser. Collection bins will be distributed to Guided Study Halls soon and I'm very excited to see this year's outcome."

Your donation can help all who are diagnosed have the upper hand in their fight against cancer.
