This past weekend on March 22 and 23, Fulton hosted All-County Orchestra students from Oswego, Fulton, and Auburn.
The Fulton students who attended All-County include Devon Ketcham (bass), Sydney Bradshaw (bass), Savannah Sellin (bass), Leah O’Hanlon (first chair cello), Malie Follet (cello), Joe Benevidez (viola), Anthony DeMasi (viola), Brooke Lincoln (viola), Lydia Mirabito (viola), Anna-Carole Samson (first-chair viola), Skyler Gibson (2nd violin), Destiny Miller (2nd violin), Hope Mirabito (2nd violin), Camille Stevenson (2nd violin), Dominic Fischel (1st violin), Andrew Smith (1st violin), Rebekkah Manwaring (1st violin), Vita Dean (flute), Emily Porter (flute), Olivia Hawthorn (oboe), Nick Brown (bass clarinet), Sunny Clinard (bassoon), and Anthony Lucas (trumpet).
They played "Rhosymedre" by Ralph Vaughan Williams, "An American in Paris" by George Gershwin, and "Academic Festival Overture" by Johannes Brahms.
The students practiced from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday, March 22 and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on March 23. After many long hours of practicing, the students played their hearts out and delivered an amazing performance on Saturday at two o'clock. West Genessee conductor Tracy Berner said she had an amazing time and was thoroughly impressed with the students' ability to create “energetic and fun music.”
Ms. Berner celebrated her birthday on Saturday and the students played her "Happy Birthday." Ironically, she also conducted All-County 10 years ago and it was her birthday then, as well.
Freshman Lydia Mirabito reflected upon her experience explaining how she had a fun time and said it is weird knowing she will never play with these same students ever again because of all the graduating seniors.
Senior Devan Ketcham said All-County was fun and that it was nice to see so many familiar faces from previous years.
