April 12, 2019
The Hoops for Hope charity basketball game on April 5 was hugely successful. They were able to raise over $14,000 to fight cancer and support other great causes.
There were several things going on at the event. There was a student tournament early in the afternoon. At 7:30 p.m., the charity game started, along with face painting, raffle baskets, and other activities.
For the game, a faculty team comprised of Fulton teachers along with local celebrity Daniel Baldwin took on a team from News Channel 3.
The teachers took on the team from Channel 3 News in front of a packed gym. The students were very excited about the game and were chanting and loudly supporting the faculty team, which led to a 53-31 lead for Fulton at the end of the first half.
In the second half, the large student section began to support the Channel 3 team, which led to them closing the gap. The final score was 87 for the Fulton team and 83 for the news team.
Congratulations to coordinators Mrs. Cretaro and Mr. Lyons for putting together such a fun and successful event!
