Surgery Recovery Easier During Quarantine

By Camrin Galvin

Staying at home has been pretty easy lately considering I had surgery a few weeks ago and haven't been able to do anything.

Back at the beginning of wrestling season, I was at a club practice and was wrestling with a friend when all of a sudden I felt my thumb snap back and was in lots of pain. I went to the hospital and got x-rays to make sure nothing was broken or fractured. I got lucky and nothing was broken.

Although it was hard and painful, I finished out the season.

After the season was over, I went to the doctor and found out I tore the ligaments and tendons in my thumb and I had to get surgery. The surgery went well and only took an hour and a half. The doctor told me the recovery time is about two months, which is a very long time for a guy that likes to constantly be doing something.

For about the first week I was very sore and no medicine was making it feel any better. I went back for an appointment and got my cast off and am now in a brace.
