The varsity boys lacrosse team celebrates their win, which put them into the semi-finals of sectionals during the 2019 season.

Players Preparing for Lacrosse

Attention boys lacrosse players. Coach Koproski is holding open gym/practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays leading up to the start of the spring season. He will also hold the weight room open for players who are looking to get a lift or workout in after school on weekdays.

The 2020 season kicks off on Monday, March 16. Coach Koproski and Coach Beckwith will be holding a meeting sometime soon explaining what the season will hold for the boys. Students must go to the Athletics Department website to fill out Family ID and physical paperwork in order to practice on the first day.

Coach Koproski also wants all lacrosse players to go to Coach Beckwith’s room if they are in need of the varsity boys lacrosse Remind code. This will allow players to get information from Coach Koproski himself.

Coaches also would like students to know to keep their work turned in and to keep school first. Education is very important to Coach Koproski. He said, “It’s always education first, then the work on the field next, but we have to have both to be successful."

Last season the varsity boys worked hard to compete in the semi-finals for Section 3, but came up short with a loss to Fayetteville-Manlius. This was the first time in 30 years Fulton’s boys lacrosse program has made it that far to sectionals. It was also the first time in around 30 years that our own GRB hosted the quarter-finals of sectionals where the boys secured the win against Whitesboro.

Koproski said he feels honored to coach a team of hard-working young men.

The Varsity team also brought home “The County Cup” which hasn't been brought back home in a few years.

The County Cup is a competition between the Oswego County schools such as Central Square and Oswego where whoever wins twice against the opposing team in the season takes the trophy and places it in their trophy case until the next season where the competition comes about again.

This year should be an exciting season for the Red Raiders and the team hopes for as much support as they can get from the community.
