As Halloween is approaching, everyone is reminiscing about past Halloween fun. Some like to do things such as carve pumpkins, see all the trick-or-treaters, or look back on all the Halloween memories they have.
Staff and students were happy to share both happy and embarrassing times from past Halloweens.
School Counselor Mr. Nofal said he enjoys watching his kids go trick-or-treating every year and then laughed as he shared an embarrassing story.
"One year I wanted to be a scarecrow for Halloween and my mom made me a costume with sewed on patches. I got on the bus with it on ready to go to school and no one else was was dressed up. I was so embarrassed I ripped the patches off and made my mom sew them on again later for Halloween," he said.
To this day, the memory still brings a smile to Mr. Nofal's face.
Junior Madison Johnson shared, "Every year my mom and I carve pumpkins while listening to music. Even though I don't always give my mom the satisfaction of knowing, it is something I really enjoy."
This tradition is important to Madison and she even plans on sharing it with her kids years from now.
Ms. Cook was more than excited to share one of her Halloween traditions. She said, "Every year my children and grandchildren meet at my house and get ready for Halloween and we order a pumpkin-shaped pizza."
This is a tradition her family has had for over 30 years. She started it with her children who are now passing it down to their children.
The pumpkin-shaped pizza is an integral part of this tradition and can be ordered from Cam's Pizzeria in Oswego.
Although everyone has different Halloween traditions and memories, they all bring joy in some way, even if the moment was embarrassing at first.
Despite the weather, RaiderNet hopes everyone had a happy Halloween!
