The annual Pennies for Patients drive has just concluded at GRB. A total of over 300 dollars was raised to support cancer research. Student Senate thanks all those who donated to such a great cause!
The winning Guided Study Hall with about 85 dollars raised was Mrs. Ryan’s class. Their accomplishment was celebrated on Monday, April 29, with a breakfast pizza party donated by Student Senate.
Student Senate is also in its final stages of their Feeding Children Everywhere project. They have raised thousands of dollars so far. The project will take place on June 15 at the Fulton Junior High from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Student Senate is still looking for additional members to help package the food. If you are interested, please see Ms. Florio at GRB to sign up. Anyone in the community, including students, is welcome to join. It is a great opportunity to gain community service hours.
Senior treasurer Jasmine Criswell said, “We are very excited to be moving forward with the Feeding Children Everywhere Project. Student Senate is still fundraising and looking for volunteers for our packaging date, so all help is welcome and needed.”
Senior Hayley Vann stated, “I am looking forward to the Feeding Children Everywhere Project, because I love being able to give back to the community. I think it’s a great thing to help others who may not be able to get the things we take for granted.”
Senior Student Senate President Jenna Ruzekowicz said, “The project is off to an amazing start. With just over a month before we package our meals, we about halfway to our fundraising goal. On June 15, we will gather at the Junior High to package 10,000 meals for the students of our community.”
She added, “Student Senate would like thank everyone who has been involved with the Feeding Children Everywhere Project and everyone who will be.”
