Fulton wrestling has made huge achievements and continues to set records. They have also made big plans for the summer with practices and meets. Anyone interested in wrestling this summer or next season should contact Coach Waldron.
In the coming season, Fulton's wrestling team will have won 1,000 dual meets. Only four other schools in the country have reached that mark. This team has also won 30 Class A championships and the last five section championships in a row. If they win next year, they will be the only team to ever win six in a row. They also made it to the Final Four in the state dual meet tournament.
Coach Waldron and the wrestling team will be attending a wrestling camp at Cornell this summer from June 28 - July 1. The more advanced wrestlers will also be wrestling in a tournament in Ohio from July 22-25, along with wrestling in the Thousand Island duals the first weekend in August. On August 23-24, they will be wrestling at the NYS Fair.
This year, there were two section place finishers, Ian Bogardus and Dylan Waldron, and one state finisher, Cam Galvin. There were also five section finalists, including Dominick Hofmann, Cole French, Sam May, Cuinn Burlingham, and Andrew Walts. They expect there to be multiple state podium finalists and section finalists next season.
Coach Waldron said, "Fulton wrestling has a strong history and tradition that all Fultonians should be proud of."
Junior Ian Bogardus said, "We look to get better every summer and coming up on a big year we are looking to be at our best. We do this with a lot more competitions and practices."
