As students enter into high school or advance through their high school careers, many decide they need to get a job to either pay for a vehicle, cell phone bills, or to save up for college.
Starting to work at 16 may be hard as many local businesses don't hire until you're 18. You do have options at 16, however.
I work for the school district cleaning after school. It's a good job for students as you can stay right at the high school to work. To get a job at the school, you apply like for any other job.
Working can be a tough thing to do though while in high school, especially if you are in sports, as it can really limit the amount that you can work.
Earning money while in high school can be a great feeling, but it is a commitment to make sure you can make it to work as much as you can. If you would like more information on cleaning after school, you can visit the Counseling Office or the custodians' office throughout the day.
One senior worker said, "Senior year is expensive and instead of having my parents pay for everything, I want to contribute by paying for things on my own."
Some students said they want to start saving money for college, as well as have money in case of wanting to purchase things on their own and not rely on their parents to purchase things for them.
