Mr. Mainville Leads ESF Trip

By Ethan Abelgore

On October 24, Mr. Mainville took nine students from his Global Environment class to ESF as part of a course requirement.

The students include Harry Chen, Olivia Hawthorne, Katie Galletta, Daniel Buck, Nate Archer, Samantha Hoyt, Brandy Recore, Ian Summerville, and Brandon Grow.

The Global Environment class is a dual enrollment course offered through SUNY ESF where students learn about environmental problems and potential solutions for those problems. Students who complete the course earn both college and high school credit.

On the trip, the students were given a tour of the campus, participated in a lesson on systems thinking, and took two tours of degree programs (paper making and hydrology).

ESF has good undergraduate programs designed specifically for careers. When students complete their degree, they are ready for a job on the day they graduate.

According to Mr. Mainville, "Fulton high school does more for their students than most any school in the area. These opportunities give students exposure to the endless possibilities of a college degree as well as a taste of what college course work looks like."
