On Saturday, April 27, the JV and varsity girls lacrosse teams played Whitesboro here at the high school. The temperature was hovering around 35 degrees throughout the day with constant snow showers.
Senior Domonique Johnson said, "It was snowing sideways in the first half and it was hitting us in the eyes."
The Lady Raiders bundled up and got to work. The JV team started the day with an exciting overtime win.
The varsity girls took the field next. Stand-out performances from sophomore Emma Weaver and senior Keara Patterson led the team to a 14-9 victory. Patterson racked up two goals and five assists. She said, "My teammates did a great job getting open and they made it easy for me to get assists."
The victory put the team into Sectionals.
The Lady Raiders secured two more wins during the week. They beat Central Square with a score of 16-9 and Oswego 20-6. They hope to continue their three-game win streak into their game against ESM on May 7.
