Cheerleaders Perform Well at Sectionals

On Saturday, October 26, GRB's varsity cheerleading team took the mat at Sectionals. Everyone was very excited and ready to show the judges their routine that they've worked so hard on all season.

Senior Tory Paro said, "Everybody's entitled to their own opinion and in my opinion, and I don't think this just because I cheer for GRB, but we should have won that title."

The varsity cheer team only competed against Oswego for the Section III cheer title. They took the mat at about 1:00 p.m. and they were confident about what they were about to perform for the judges and the audience.

Coach Greenier said, "I was confident in my girls. I knew that if they were not going to take first, then they were going to take a pretty solid second. They unfortunately did not take first, but I am very proud of all the hard work they put in this season. Congrats to Oswego for taking the title this season."

The members of the GRB varsity cheer team were pretty disappointed in themselves for not pulling out the first place win, but they're ready for Sectionals during basketball season to try and win the title over.

Junior Corrine Clarke said, "I know we can win Sectionals basketball season. The cheer team has won Sectionals before and I believe we can do it again."

The cheer team has a lot of hard work ahead of them for basketball season, but with determination and dedication, they can achieve their goals.
