What GRB Students Will Remember Most About This Time

By Breahna Boots

The world is currently going through a very historical moment. Many parents, elders, and people who have lived on this earth for many years, claim they’ve never seen anything like this. There is no doubt 2020 will be a year many adults, elders, and especially students will remember for the rest of their lives.

Junior Madison Johnson said, “I will remember spending a lot of time with family and getting to talk with my friends about our work a lot more.”

School has been out of session for quite a few weeks already so to guarantee that students don’t miss out on school work, teachers have been assigning work through Google Classroom. Teachers have also started “office hours.” This is a certain time of day where students are easily able to contact their teachers if they have questions or need help with assignments.

“I’ll remember the fact that we’re probably going to miss out on the rest of our senior year. If this doesn’t get better soon, we’re going to lose out on senior trip, senior dinner dance, and there’s even a chance we won’t get to walk across the stage on time at graduation,” senior Devanee Sabin said.

Seniors had their last year of high school cut short and many seniors agree that they will remember that the most.

Senior John Halstead said, “I’ll remember the amount of time spent inside.”

Movie theaters, bowling alleys, dining in restaurants, and anything non-essential has been closed for weeks now. Boat launches were closed, but were reopened within a week or so. Some people are struggling to keep themselves entertained without going to places they use to attend all the time.

Stay safe and healthy, GRB!
