The New York City trip for the Art Club is just around the corner and will take place Friday, May 24.
To go on this trip, a deposit of $45 was needed to hold your spot on the bus, but overall each student had to pay about $100. Final payments were collected in April. The cost of the trip includes the bus ride to and from NYC, admission to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), admission to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and dinner at John's Pizzeria, a popular venue for many New York City trips.
Students had to have their permission slip/information sheet and deposit handed in by February 27. With the money out of the way, this is the trip itinerary.
At 4:30 a.m. the bus will be on its way to NYC. If a student does not show up, his or her money will not be refunded.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., the students and chaperones will be dropped off at Macy's on West 34th Street. Then, they will take a subway-train from Penn Station on 34th and get off at 86th Street Central Park West. They will take a 15-minute walk through the park to the MET on the other side.
At 10 a.m. the MET self-guided tour will begin. Students are there until 12:30 p.m.
At 12:30 students will walk across the street to Central Park for lunch and to tour the park.
From 1:00-1:30 p.m., the students will walk through the park to the MoMA. Students will tour the MoMA until 4:00 p.m.
After touring the MoMA, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., students will have time to shop and explore Times Square.
At 6:00 p.m., they will eat dinner at John's Pizzeria and then get right onto the bus at 7:30 p.m. to leave New York City.
Students should be back to the school at approximately 12:00 a.m.
