On January 25, GRB's varsity and JV cheerleading team competed at a competition that was held in the gym here at GRB.

The varsity team competed against Mexico and Hannibal and ended up taking third place.

Senior Samantha Humphrey said, "I wish we could've scored higher and taken first place but we have another competition coming up so I'm glad we're able to use this competition as a learning experience and work on what we have to work on."

"I'll always be proud of my team. We've lost some girls and the amount of hard work we've put in this season is crazy," senior Alyssa Kurak said.

The JV team also competed against Mexico and Hannibal and also came in third place.

Junior Maddy Johnson said, "It was a very good time. We lost girls the night before competition and still put together a routine. We went out and had fun and that's what mattered the most to us."

Both teams competed again on February 8 at Copenhagen.

Varsity competed against Belleville Henderson, Mexico, and Sackets Harbor.

They came in fourth place.

Senior Samantha Humphrey said, "It sucks putting in so much hard work and not getting first place. But we tried our best and became close as a team and built some great friendships as the season has gone on."

JV also competed again and competed against Mexico and came in second place.

Junior Falyn Pitcher said, "We've had a really hard season and have had so many obstacles thrown at us. But we have overcome all of them and really pulled it together for Saturday. And I've never been so proud to be part of a team."

Great job to the JV and Varsity cheerleading teams!
