Anything Goes Hits GRB Stage

By Dani Avery

On March 7, 8, and 9, the 1934 musical Anything Goes hit the stage at G. Ray Bodley High School. Students from GRB, FJHS, and even our local elementary schools were a part of the cast. The story follows crazy antics aboard an ocean liner.

Some of the major characters were Reno Sweeney played by junior Alexis Barth, Bill Crocker played by senior Nick Brown, and Hope Harcourt played by junior Becca Bailey.

The annual school musical was directed by Fulton teachers Tom Briggs, Rob Lescarbeau, and Thomas Nami and the dances were choreographed by Doreen Kelly.

Director Rob Lescarbeau said, "Overall, the musical was a success as the students worked hard and pulled together to produce what is a difficult show to perform."

Freshman Mary Jerred said, "The connections that you make with everyone else and the music we get to make with each other is the best part about doing the musical. I will definitely do it again next year."

Senior Shaylee Cealie said, "Although we missed some rehearsals because of winter weather, I still think we were able to put on a great show and pull it together as a team."

Although none of the shows sold out, there were good crowds. Hopefully everyone had a chance to go out and see Anything Goes on the GRB stage because it definitely was an iconic show.

Be sure to follow Quirk's Players until they announce next year's productions because they are sure to bring excitement and talent to the stage again for the 2019-2020 season.
