The Sheldon Institute for Barbara Shineman Scholars is a two-week program that gives kids a chance to learn about their favorite subjects.
It is starting the last week of July and ends the first week of August (July 22 - August 20). This program is for students entering grades 2 through 10. It costs $330 per student, but for families who need financial aid, they do offer scholarships, if eligible.
This program includes many subjects for kids to be able to learn more about, but there are different choices for younger kids and older kids. The younger kids (grades 2-5) have a set program, but the older kids (grades 6-10) attending can pick four different daily workshops.
On the website for this program (www.oswego.edu/sheldon-institute) it says, “Novice students, grades 2-3, and Intermediate students, grades 4-5, have a set program that includes art projects, science, language, history, cultural appreciation and may include swim time.”
The older kids have those same topics along with a few others like emphasizing problem solving, communication, cultural appreciation, technology, writing, and more.
This program is looking for about 130 kids to attend and the spots fill up fast so be sure to sign up quickly. Take advantage of this great opportunity and make the most of the summer.
