Are you excited for prom this year? Prom is being held at Alex’s on the Water on May 16 from 7-11 p.m. The winning theme for this year's event is The Roaring 20s and this year's prom song is "From the Ground Up" by Dan and Shay.

Junior class president Samantha McRae is very excited for prom this year and has been working hard to make sure it is a fun enjoyable night for everyone. She said, “We have done a great job fundraising and planning so far, so I think it will be a great night. We are doing something new this year and having gifts to raffle off for free because we have a lot of extra money and we believe it would help increase the excitement throughout the night."

Many juniors going to prom this year who have gone to prom in years past are excited that this is their prom and they are ready to enjoy the night. Junior Marcus Shepard said, “The prom theme is nice and unique. It's different, which makes everyone more excited because it's not a theme used every year. I also love the song that was chosen so I’m excited that that is the one that got the most votes.”

Senior Nevaeh Tucker will be attending prom this year to hand down a prom court sash. She noted this year's theme and song seem more relevant. She said, "The roaring 20s will be a great theme for this year and is very unique unlike all the other basic star and red carpet themes like previous years."

Prom 2020 will definitely be one to remember and everyone who has the chance to go should take it because you will not regret it. There will be many memories made and you will not want to miss out on a fun, enjoyable night.
