The Lady Raiders celebrate a big win against Oswego.

Raiders Fight Back

By Camrin Galvin

The Raider volleyball team had a great, hard-fought game against the Bucs on Monday at Oswego High School. After losing to the Bucs in a tournament just days before the game, the Raiders came in very determined and ready to play.

The Raiders had the stands packed full of students and parents on their feet cheering. Each set of the game was very close, but ended with the Raiders on top. They took all three sets.

"We never thought we would take them in three. We haven't done that in a long time, but we all played well and as a team and it showed on the court," senior Sydney Lawson said.

Spectator senior Ian Bogardus said, "They played really well. Sydney Lawson was a key player and the crowd was amazing."

Junior Libero Abby Pawlewicz said, "We predicted we would win the game, but we expected it to go to five sets. Thanks to our supporters and our loud student section we were able to pull through and win in three sets. Our defense and offense were both very strong, which has a huge contribution to our win."

The Raiders will be taking on Nottingham this Friday at home.
