On Monday, February 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., six G. Ray Bodley students went on a field trip to the Student Leadership Academy. These students were junior Mark Tallents, freshman Claire Broderick, sophomore Emma Weaver, junior Sam May, sophomore Alena Wright, and junior Samuel Cary.
The students played charades as an opening activity to break the ice. They then participated in a multitude of activities including listening to presenters and answering questions. They then departed into groups in which they were taught a unique curriculum and had beneficial group brainstorming sessions.
The main purpose of the event was to build strong school leaders who are involved in athletics. The students are currently in the process of creating their own unique project to improve the community.
“It was a new experience for me that was very rewarding,” sophomore Emma Weaver said.
Freshman Claire Broderick noted, “It was very helpful and useful.”
“It was a learning experience and it was fun to play Charades,” sophomore Alena Wright said.
Congratulations to these students for representing GRB so well!
