May 24, 2019
This weekend, May 25-27, are special days for our country. Memorial Day is a day where those who have died in active military service are remembered. The official holiday is May 27, 2019.
Fulton is holding a Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 25. There will be different acts from around the county, from dancing, to singing, to marching bands. There will also be horses, firetrucks, police cars, and more.
Most importantly, there will be veterans.
Sophomore Jasmine Fauler said, "We are playing one song during the parade. We have so many band players in our group, from low brass to percussion. With other bands playing in our parade (Phoenix and Oswego), I feel confident in our group. I also play the piccolo and flute."
Senior Dani Avery said, "There will be between 30 people, including parents and children, who want to walk in the parade with us. We are performing our finale patriotic dance and all dancers are included."
Avery added, "There will be other dancers there, too, including Off Broadway and cheerleaders and Girl Scouts. I feel really confident in our team. We have one first place last year and we are hoping to keep the streak."
Sure, students think that Memorial Day is a "small break" but we must remember those who have fought for us and our freedom.
Memorial Day holds a special place in our hearts as we thank those who have fought bravely!
