On Thursday, October 24, Arel Moodie came to speak with seniors in the auditorium during Guided Study Hall and third bell.
Moodie is a professional speaker, entrepreneur, coach, and a best-selling author. His mission is to help anybody he can to better connect with themselves and to others and to realize there's more to life than what some may think.
"I really enjoyed listening to him. Everything he said made so much sense and it was all so relatable," senior Tory Paro said.
Moodie also gave seniors advice on how to be successful by using his own personal experiences. He informed seniors he grew up very poor and thought he'd grow up to live the exact same way he was as a child.
He explained to seniors that no matter what the situation is, it will always get better and every person is capable of being successful as long as they put in the effort.
Senior Kolton Lewis said, "He was very energetic and passionate about what he was saying."
"I feel like the things he was talking about were very educational for this generation. Not to come off wrong, but in my opinion this generation is very uneducated about world experiences and don't realize all it really takes to be successful is effort," senior Alyssa Robinson said.
Moodie explained to seniors he faced many difficulties growing up, but he didn't let those difficulties affect who he was becoming. He's been personally acknowledged for his work with youth by Barack Obama, has been a featured speaker at the White House, has written for Forbes and Huffington Post, and has been on The Doctors.
It definitely seems like Moodie made an impact on the seniors of GRB!
