Students Attend Genetics Conference

On Tuesday, February 25, Mr. Mainville took the AP Biology students to a Genetics Conference in Buffalo, New York. At this conference, experts in the field presented research, discoveries, and other advancements in genetic sciences.

Mr. Mainville said, "It was a very eye-opening experience for the students." He explained how the presenter made sure to make it clear to the students that they are the future of genetics and also informed them about resources they can use to further their career in the field.

The students who went on the trip were all wholly impressed. Senior Alex Blaine described the event as fantastic and noted, "My mind must have been blown a thousand times within an hour."

Senior Devon Seale said, "It was great because it had information that was really recent."

On top of that, senior Ronde Wood was most interested in what he learned about a certain individual in China who experimented on human zygotes.

Overall, this trip was a treat for all students involved. This should be something that sticks with them for a long time.
