With AP tests starting in the beginning of May, students have just over a month to study and prepare for their tests.

As End of Year Approaches, Students Prepare for AP Tests

By Camille Stevenson

As the third quarter comes to a close, many AP classes are beginning review classes during and after school to ensure the students perform to the best of their ability on the tests.

Hopefully this year they won’t have any mishaps during the test, like a missing test packet, which happened last year during the AP English test.

Each test is $94 or a reduced cost of $53 (for students who get free or reduced lunch) and checks can be made out to GRB High School. Vice-Principal Mr. Copani is collecting the AP test money and would like to have all checks in before the beginning of Spring Break, which starts on April 15.

The following calendar lists all of the dates and times for the AP tests. All the tests will be administered at Fulton Alliance Church.

Schedule of dates and times for upcoming AP tests.

Senior Jenna Ruzekowicz said the AP test period is an extremely stressful time of year but often "brings out the best in everyone." She personally begins studying a little more than a month in advance for her AP tests and spends her entire spring break with "her nose in a textbook."

She recommends going to as many review classes as possible, especially because of all the great snacks AP students receive during these study sessions.

AP Calculus teacher Mrs. Ryan said, "This year's Calculus class is an outstanding group and the majority of students have worked very hard all year. As a consequence, they are well prepared for their AP exams."

Even with all the review classes, students should still do practice exams on their own for additional preparation.

Mrs. Ryan has set up six review sessions and is looking for donors to provide food.

Many teachers have created or will be creating AP review schedules which will be amassed into a master schedule and distributed to the students and teachers.

With the end of the year soon coming to a close, many seniors are experiencing a multitude of emotions and feelings as they begin to take the next steps in their lives.

Senior Ean Stevenson is left with feelings of uncertainty as to what his future may bring, but is still excited to begin a new chapter of his life.
