On Wednesday, May 3, the baseball team traveled to Oswego and took home a win. The final score was 8-5.
The win came after a difficult double header on Monday, April 29. The Raider varsity baseball team faced off against Cortland and played two full seven inning games.
In the games, the boys made a lot of errors that caused them to lose both games. The rain and really cold weather did not help. They lost the first game 11-2 and the second game 10-1.
The boys were facing a pitcher who was averaging 79 miles per hour. It was hard for the boys to hit off someone throwing that fast because they hadn't seen pitching that fast yet this season.
Junior Ian Bogardus said, "We did not play as well as we should have. We made a lot of errors in the first game. They had extremely good pitching. It was very cold and rainy."
Sophomore Cuinn Burlingham said, "The games did not go as we would have liked. We have to clean some things up and get back on track."
The boys need to continue to work hard to have a better season.
