The Fulton City School District has used all five of its snow days.

Out of Snow Days

By Lizzie Russell

The February 25 Snow Day brought along a lot of wind and a lot of questions. As the wind was crazy and the roads were icy, the school district decided a Snow Day was necessary, but this made some students upset seeing that it was our last available Snow Day.

Later that day, Governor Cuomo released a statement saying that the Snow Day will not be counted against the total amount of snow days for the year. He said his administration was working with the New York State Education Department and that districts would need to complete a waiver. Although this made a lot of students happy, it turns out Mr. Cuomo spoke too soon and this does not apply to many districts.

Principal Mrs. Parkhurst said it was just a rumor that the day wouldn't count and that Monday, February 25 was the district's fifth Snow Day.

If the district uses any more days, we will lose vacation time in April. The first day to lose would be Monday, April 22.

Fulton City School District has used its last Snow Day available, so let's stay safe and hope for no more bad weather!
