Mr. Christopher Leece, who has been a part of the Fulton City School District since 2004, will be leaving the district July 1 after accepting a position as STEM Coordinator for OCM BOCES.
Mr. Leece is in his second year as principal of the Fulton Junior High School, but taught Biology at GRB for many years before that. He was also the GRB Science Department chair and held the position of Alternative Education Coordinator earlier in his career.
Mr. Leece explained that it has been a great learning experience as he learned a lot more about students and teachers. He has really enjoyed his time in Fulton, but he really misses teaching science. He said his new role as a STEM Coordinator will give him the opportunity to "share knowledge and passion for science with all the educators from around the region.”
He noted his time as Fulton Junior High School principal has been a gratifying professional experience, but that the position he has accepted with OCM BOCES will allow him to contribute more directly to science curriculum and instruction.
Mr. Leece will continue as the Junior High School principal for the rest of the year and then will be starting his new role July 1.
Although he has always been interested in this type of position, Mr. Leece said he didn't think an opportunity like this would happen so quickly. He noted that he is so excited to be involved in bigger things than he has been in a school building. He explained there will be many things he will have the opportunity to do that he has never been able to be a part of before.
Congratulations, Mr. Leece!
