Tako je dobro biti sam
Pođem kroz trave do najbliže padine.
Pronađem obli kamen, sednem, pa
ćutim.
Tako je dobro biti sam: u daljini neko
čeka.
Zagledam se u sunce i polako žutim,
(U glavi dodam:
Ispod nogu se igraju ribe, teče reka.)
Tako je dobro biti sam:
U zamršenom korovu iza kamena
Dve ptice se hlade od sunca.
Dve male ptice!
Jedna prhne u sunce i senkom mi išara
lice.
Drugu zovem da mi sleti na ramena.
Tako je dobro biti sam: neko te voli.
Potrčiš pet koraka i staneš kao
kamen.
Prav, visok, ispod sunca: ti ličiš
jedino topoli!
Stojim.
Tako je dobro biti sam: u daljini neko
čeka.
Ispod nogu se igraju ribe, teče reka.
It's So Good To Be Alone
I go through the grass to the nearest slope.
Find a rounded stone, sit down and
remain silent.
It is so good to be alone: there is someone
far away waiting for you.
I stare at the sun and slowly turn yellow,
(I add in my head:
Under my feet fish play, the river flows.)
It’s so good to be alone:
In the tangled weeds behind the stone
Two birds cool their sun-drenched bodies.
Two small birds!
One takes wing in the sun and frescoes
my face.
I call the other one to rest on my shoulder.
It’is so good to be alone: someone loves you.
Run five steps and stay rooted
like a stone.
Straight, tall, under the sun: you look
like a poplar!
Standing.
It’is so good to be alone: there is someone waiting
For you.
Under my feet fish play , the river flows
