Pod zemljom

Unter der Erde

Auf einer Bretterwand

jagt im Netz

eine langbeinige Spinne

ihren Schatten

Die morsche Treppe hinab

spuckt eine gelbe Kerze

in den Keller

Der Keller ist weit weg

und sinkt immer tiefer

unter die feuchten Mauern

Die Tür

hat man für jemand geschlossen

um Mitternacht

Und eine Ameise

in Menschengestalt

am Fuß der Treppe

hebt die Hand

Ihr Schrei

erreicht niemanden.

Underground

Underneath the floorboards

A long-legged spider

Spreads his hunter's web

Through the shadow.

Down the rotting staircase,

A yellow candle

Spits into the cellar.

The cellar far beyond

Sinks deeper,

Deep beneath the damp walls.

The only door

Closes everything inside

At midnight

And then an ant

In the form of a man

At the bottom of the steps,

Raises his hand above.

But his cry

Does not reach.

a daddy-long-legs

hunts his shadow

in his web

Down the rotting stairs

raises his hand
