CSF pathway and Venticle

Cerebrospinal fluid. 

CSG เป็น clear, plasma-like fluid that bathes the brain and spinal cord in circulation.
หน้าที่
- cushion สำหรับ  brain และ spinal cord เมื่อมีแรงกระแทกหรือสั่นไหว
- มีหน้าที่เป็น immunological barrier และ transporter of neurotransmitters.
 

The CSF
สร้างจาก Choroid plexus (พบได้ที่ lateral, third & fourth ventricles)
ผลิตวันละ 600-700 mL per day.

แต่ capacity of space มีเพียง 150-270 mL

หมายความว่า ปริมาณทั้งหมดจะถูกแทนที่ได้ถึง 4 times per day

Circulation & Flow

1️⃣ สร้างจาก lateral ventricles ผ่าน the interventricular foramen (of Monroe) ไปสู่  third ventricle

2️⃣ ผ่าน cerebral aqueduct (of Sylvius) ไปสู่ fourth ventricle

3️⃣ CSF flows
- บางส่วนไป central canal of the spinal cord
- ส่วนใหญ่ ผ่าน apertures of the fourth ventricle และ median aperture (of Magendie) และ 2 lateral apertures (of Luschka)

4️⃣ หลังนั้น CSF flows ผ่านไปสู่ subarachnoid space of the brain and spinal cord 

5️⃣ ที่สุดแล้วจะถูก reabsorbed ใน dural venous sinuses ผ่านทางarachnoid granulations (villi)
