VSG Travel Awards to the Annual AAS Conference 2026
Dear list,
Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted as presenters at the AAS Annual Conference 2026! This year, the Vietnam Studies Group is pleased to have available a total of $1,750 for travel awards to help defray the travel costs of presenters to the AAS Annual Conference 2026 in Vancouver, Canada. These will be disbursed as two awards: $1000 for a scholar who is based in Vietnam, and $750 for another applicant based anywhere in the world.
Scholars from all levels of study can apply, from graduate students and post-docs to professors and independent scholars. We strongly encourage scholars from countries with lower-than-average per capita income to apply. Please be aware that VSG travel funds cannot go to those who receive the $2000 AAS International Exchange Travel Grant, and that receipt of the VSG grant will not permit graduate students to receive the $200 AAS student travel stipend.
To apply, please fill out this form by Friday, December 1, 2025, 11:59pm Eastern Time. If you have any questions, please forward them to Hoang Minh Vu at hoang.vu@fulbright.edu.vn.
I would also be incredibly grateful if our group members can please help us spread the message above in your academic communities, through social media, and via other platforms so we can have many applications this year!
Thank you so much!
