Verified Civilian Slayings

Decades-old Pentagon records show that Army criminal investigators

substantiated seven massacres of Vietnamese and Cambodian civilians by

U.S. soldiers in addition to the notorious 1968 My Lai massacre.

Here are summaries of three of those incidents, drawn from files of the

Vietnam War Crimes Working Group.

Subject: RE: [Vsg] more coverage of US war crimes

These are extraordinary articles.

Does anyone know of any research looking at what impressions of Americans

were left behind in areas where US forces committed frequent atrocities? It

might be interesting to write a follow-up on how the behavior of US troops

shapes long-term attitudes towards the US.
