Origins of a Phrase

Dear Olga,

I think there are two Chinese origins for the two lines:

- Ẩm hà đương tư nguyên [饮河当思源]: from "ẩm kì lưu giả hoài kì nguyên"

(饮其流者怀其源) by Yu Xin (北周·庾信《徵调曲》：“落其实者思其树，饮其流者怀其源。”)

"Ẩm thuỷ tư nguyên" 饮水思源（Yin shui si yuan） may be used more often in both

China and Vietnam.

- Ái quốc mạc vong tổ [爱国莫忘祖]: from "Tịch phụ kì vô hậu hồ? Sổ điểm nhi

vong kì tổ" (籍父其无后乎？数典而忘其祖。) in *Zuozhuan *(左传·昭公十五年》：“籍父其无后乎！数典而忘其祖。”).

Sometime you may see a phrase of "Tịch Đàm vong tổ" 籍談忘祖 (Ji Tan wang zu)

in both Chinese and Vietnamese texts.
