Hi Quang,

Check out this blog from Nguyễn Việt Nữ, a former RVN public health official, lawyer, candidate to the RVN Assembly, and a boat person refugee currently in the U.S.

http://nuluudatviet.blogspot.com/

She and her husband, a hospital administrator, continued to work after 1975 thinking they were contributing to post-war rebuilding of the country. The subsequent persecution, including arrest and re-education camp imprisonment of her husband, among the many other post-war policies prompted her to leave the country with her young children. She has been an active voice against the current Vietnamese government.

Those who are not as strongly "anti-communist" are less vocal and less visible due in large parts violence against them and those who shared similar views. I'll see what I can find and let you know.

Yes, we looked at Bên Thắng Cuộc and got some useful background information there. We also found some relevant information from Asian Survey (the annual country report on Vietnam) but are trying to get more sources.

Dear all,

I and a group of Vietnamese students are studying two topics related to Vietnam around 1975. The first examines Post-war plans by Northern leaders - How these leaders envisioned a unified Vietnam, and whether they shared the same vision. We focus specifically on the period of 1975-1976. The second project looks at identity struggles by South Vietnamese intellectuals who remained inside the country after 1975, especially those who decided to continue to work under the new regime.

Unfortunately, we cannot find many materials related to both topics. Most relevant works we have right now are by Đặng Phong and Cheng Guan Ang (Ending the Vietnam War - The Vietnamese Communists' Perspective) for the first project, and some bibliographies (e.g., by Nguyễn Hiến Lê) for the second project. Do you happen to know any other works related to the two topics, or anyone we should approach for an interview? Your suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank you

Best regards
