Has anyone seen this exhibit, described below, due to close this

Sunday?

I--and I suppose others on this list--would love to hear about it.

Khanh Truong was born in 1948 in Quang Nam, Vietnam. Khanh Truong is

a self-taught artist whose paintings have been exhibited in Vietnam,

Thailand, the Philippines, and the United States. He is also known by

many people in the realm of literature. In 1990, he founded the

literary journal Hop Luu and stayed involved as the journal's editor-

in-chief until he fell sick in 2003. He has released numerous short

story collections and poetry as well as co-edited a few anthologies.

The paintings in the ?Resurrection? collection mark the unstoppable

resilience in Khanh Truong?s creative journey. In his artist

statement, Khanh Truong reveals: ?The conceptual basis of these

abstract paintings allows me to enter the unconscious, the implicit,

the hidden, the disguised mood and character of a person. I choose

light colors to open up spaces that will facilitate a light and

peaceful mood in the viewers. Succeeding in conjuring optimism in my

paintings means I could banish the despair of recent years, a result

of my illness. These paintings are not individually titled. They all

turn towards the theme of Resurrection.?

The work of Khanh Truong may also be seen on the cover of many of the

issues of his journal, Hop Luu. I think that's right. They were always

paintings and I always assumed some were his.
