Subject: [Vsg] Documents on 1975

The National Archives of Australia has just made available thousands

of documents on the 1975 `Fall of Saigon'. They include daily situation

reports, Foreign Affairs advice to the Labor government, Prime

Minister Whitlam's rapid-fire orders to the Australian Embassy, withdrawal of

Australian nationals, Operation Babylift, files on Vietnamese

refugees arriving in Australia, and assistance to over 400 Vietnamese students

already living in Australia. Selected records can be found on the

Archives website (www.naa.gov.au), but for the remainder you'll need

to come to their reading room in pleasant Canberra.
