Dear all:
Would you know where to locate a copy of vol. 4 of the Contribution a l'histoire
des mouvements politiques anti-francais en Indochine? (this is the volume on the
Communist Party) The Harvard library system only has a photocopy though I
remember reading original volumes many years ago. The photocopy has very bad
reproduction of photographs which I would very much like to see. Many thanks!

I assume you are talking about the volumes put out by the French after the Yen Bay uprisings -- I seem to remember that there were at least 5 volumes. I found them in the Centre des Archives d'Outre-Mer, in Aix. Don't have the "fonds" or carton number handy.

Yes, this is the set. I'd love not to have to go to Aix in order to copy one
single photograph! I read all the volumes in the original print copy back when
I was a student. I know they are available in some US libraries and would like
to be able to get the relevant volume through inter-library loan.

Dear VSG readers,
The CKS library holds a full set of these important documents compiled by Louis Marty in 1933 (if I remember well).
VSG readers are more than welcome to stop by Siem Reap to take advantage of our increasingly good specialized collection (about 6,000 titles now).

One can also order them through the Bibliotheque nationale de France.
It takes some time, and one has to pay for it, but the quality of the
print (or pdf) is good.
Best,
Tobias
PS Other copies are at the SHAT in Vincennes.

UW-Madison does have this, sans vol. 6 -- however, ours is also a photocopy; plus the entire set in microfilm. Our photocopy records's title is
Contribution [à] l’histoire des mouvements politiques de l’Indochine française; documents.

Contribution A L’Histoire Des Mouvements Politiqués (round two)

Dear VSG list,
I have a question about the Contribution A L’Histoire Des Mouvements Politiqués de L’Indochine Française, the Surete publication which was discussed at some length recently on the list. Does anyone know if there is a sixth volume, and if there is, what it covers? The original series appears only to have consisted of the first five so I was befuddled to find a seventh volume. When I search various library catalogs this is what I find:
v. 1. Le "Tân-Viet Cách-Menh Ðang," "Parti révolutionnaire du jeune Annam" (1925-1930).--v. 2. Le "Viet-Nam Quõc-Dân Ðang" ou "Parti national annamite" au Tonkin (1927-1932).--v. 3. Le "Viet-Nam Quõc-Dân Ðang" ou "Parti national annamite" des émigrés en Chine (1930-1933).--v. 4. Le "Ðông-Du'o'ng Cong-San Ðang" ou "Parti communiste indochinois" (1925-1933).--v. 5. La terreur rouge en Annam (1930-1931).--v. 7. Le Caodaïsme (1926-1934).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best to all,
Melissa

But the BnF also has "Vol. 5. La Terreur rouge en Annam, 1930-1931," as you had. (MFILM 4- LK10- 799 (A,5)) Probably this topic takes 2 volumes. I'm actually working at the BnF right now, so I'll try to get to the bottom of this in the next few days.

Hi, Paul here at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. It turns out they don't actually have volume 6 of "Contribution à l'histoire des mouvements politiques en Indochine française" here either, pace their catalogue, nor does any other library with an online catalog in France. So, probably it doesn't exist. Somehow they skipped to volume 7. I know, it doesn't make sense.
