Subject: [Vsg] le topo - colonial mapping in Indochina
Dear List-
Once a long while ago I recall seeing a lone periodical titled "Le Topo" at
the Social Sciences Library in Ho Chi Minh City. This was I believe
published by the Societe Geographique de l'Indochine [SGI] but may have
been published instead by the Etat-Major. It was a kind of fraternal
magazine for surveyors and described all manner of accounts from their
encounters in the field. Is anyone familiar with this periodical and
possible locations such as Aix where it might be kept in full? I believe it
had a very short run from perhaps 1900-1910 and was published in Indochina,
possibly in Saigon.
