More on the Festival of Hát Xẩm of the northern provinces 2019, co-organized by
-- The Ninh Bình Office of Culture and Sports
-- Local Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Cục Văn hoá cơ sở, Bộ Văn hoá, Thể thao, Du lịch)
-- Center for Research, Preservation and Advancement of Vietnamese Folk Music
with 150 artists from 8 provinces (Hà Nội, Quảng Ninh, Vĩnh Phúc, Nam Định, Ninh Bình, Thái Bình, Thanh Hóa, plus Hồ Chí Minh City and Nghệ An).
Each troupe is to perform 3 songs, each song 15 minutes, with at least: a Xẩm song with original lyrics, and a song with modern lyrics.
The organizers presented 5 "A" prizes (20 million đồng each), 5 "B" prizes (15 million đồng each), 5 "C" prizes (10 million each), and 30 "consolation" prizes, valued almost half a billion đồng about ($21,600.00).
