Subject: [Vsg] Job Market for Higher Educated Workers
I'm studying Youth job market, especially, Higher Educated Workers like a
worker graduated from a university or so. I'm finding references about this
point. Would you tell me a reference or a survey if you know in your free
time? Although I got a paper published from ILO about youth employment in
Vietnam, it's not well in the context of higher education.
My thought is below.
In Vietnam, the education sometimes effect positively on wage level; for
example, I heard that many students can't get job or be underemployment
after graduation(I want to confirm this inforamtion too.). What takes place
this situation? I think there are three standpoint.
1. The educational programs doesn't adept with the demand of enterprises.
2. Many Students couldn't do something enough to get job due to a lack of
information about job market or so.
3. In some regions or industries, the labor's kinship is more important
than the labor's ability.
1.This is a common realization, I think. Then, some aid program begun for
public officers, e.g., FETP by Fulbright and JFPPT by ADB. What do people
of educational institute think this point? University shouldn't be a
vocational school. However, many their cutomers may hope so.
2.I'm intrested in the information source about job market for university
students. I hear the existance of the public job bank and the private job
bank. Now, I'm looking for their function and impact.
3.is related with the occupational mobility in intergeneration. The
existance of this kind of social system and geographical dirrerences make
bad effect on the growth of this region.
For the Household, education is one of the most important expenditure to
live better life. But it's not always like Vietnam, I think.

Dear Naotake, this dissertation could perhaps be useful to your
research as it focuses on young graduates in Hanoi:

Society’: Life Choices and Value Orientations of Hanoi University
Graduates in Post-Reform Vietnam. Unpublished PhD Thesis, University of
