Dear All,

Let me have a question to you. As you can see from the attached file, there was a conference of Asian and Australasian trade unions in Beijing from November 16 to December 3, 1949. The Vietnamese delegate was Luu Duc Pho, Secretary of the General Federation of Vietnamese Workers. The conference adopted a very confrontative attitude toward both French, Dutch and British colonialism and non-Communist Asian nationalists, and it apparently enjoyed Soviet blessing, since Soviet and Mongolian delegations also participated in it, and one member of the elected five-member working committee was a Soviet delegate. What I need to know is when the preparations for the conference started, and when the organizers made their final decision about the date of the conference. This would be extremely important for me. Such a big conference cannot be held without careful and relatively long preparations, and so if we know when the preparations started, we may find out when the Chinese and Soviet leaders started to adopt such a confrontative attitude toward France.
