Dear list,

I am looking for some articles about Vietnamese Women's magazines in the 1920s and 1930s: Phu Nu Chung, Phu Nu Tan Van, and Phu Nu Thoi Dam. Besides some articles by Shawn Mchale and David Marr, I wonder if anyone else has written about these magazines either in English or in Vietnamese.

I very appreciate your help.

Dear Thao Nguyen,

You may wish to consult Van Nguyen-Marshall's text In Search of Moral Authority: The Discourse on Poverty, Poor Relief, and Charity in French Colonial Vietnam, in which she uses periodicals in which Vietnamese women figured prominently.

Cordially yours, David Del Testa

Thao,

Last year, Dr. Dang Thi Van Chi at Viet Nam National University Ha Noi published a book on pre-1945 women's movements and periodicals.
