Archives IV

Dear list,

Has anyone had experience with Archives IV in Dalat? Could you tell me if

they have a colonial period collection and what is there? Should I expect

any difficulties accessing the files? Does it follow the Hanoi (archives I)

organization system or the Saigon (Archives II) system?

Christina,

As far as I’m aware, Archives 4 in Dalat hasn’t opened yet. The Resident

Superieur d’Annam files will eventually live there. If other collections

will live there, I’m not sure. The RSA collection was closed to readers at

Archives 2 from the end of May this year. At that time, I was told by staff

at both Archives 1 and 2 that the reading room at Archives 4 would be open

in ‘may thang nua’.

I’m not sure about which organisation system it will follow.

Please do let me know what else you learn.
