Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology: Special focus: Vietnam
Dear VSG list-
If I can be forgiven for a bit of self promotion, there is a recent set
of articles published that I think will be of interest to some VSGers.
There is a special focus section on Vietnam in the current (Dec 2005)
issue of The Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology, published from ANU.
The papers were originally presented at an American Anthropological
Association panel in 2003. You can access the journal online if you are
at a uni that has a subscription
(http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/14442213.asp). The four
articles in the focus section are:
The Asia-Pacific Journal of Anthropology, Dec 2005, Vol 6 No. 3.
Philip Taylor, Special Focus on Post-War Vietnam: Introduction:
Brokering Peace: Post-War Vietnam in Anthropological Perspective, pp.
193 - 196
Pamela McElwee, ‘There is Nothing that is Difficult’: History and
Hardship on and after the Ho Chi Minh Trail in North Vietnam, pp. 197 -
214
Harriet M. Phinney, Asking for a Child: The Refashioning of
Reproductive Space in Post-War Northern Vietnam, pp. 215 - 230
Kate Jellema, Making Good on Debt: The Remoralisation of Wealth in
Post-Revolutionary Vietnam, pp. 231 - 248
For my article at least, I have a limited number of reprints which I
can send to those who are especially interested; please contact me
directly off the VSG list (pamela.mcelwee@aya.yale.edu).
Best,
Pam McElwee
