subject [Vsg] Gia Dinh Van Hoa

I'm looking into the importance (or not) of the status of 'gia dinh van hoa' in contemporary Vietnam and wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of any research in the area. Some people I've spoken to say it's taken more seriously in HCMC than in Hanoi, some say it means more in rural areas than in cities. How important is it in the allocation of resources to families and as an instrument of surveillance and control?

Best wishes
