Dear List:

A friend of mine (Agricultural Economics) is looking for a Dean,

Associate Dean or Director of International Programs at a university in

the south who might be interested in visiting about an exchange program

or collaboration on research projects (agricultural economics). If you

have any suggestions, please let us know. Thank you!

Hi Trien,

You might consider sending a note to Chau Van Thanh, the dean of the

Fulbright Economic Teaching Program (under the Economics University)

in HCMC. You could also contact Vu Thanh Tu Anh, Associate Dean in

charge of research. FETP would have to be considered the best

economics program in Vietnam and I know they are currently looking to

expand their research activities. You can check out more at the link

below:

Dear Trien Nguyen,

I'm not sure if you are still looking for a contact in Ag Econ in the south, but if you are you might want to contact Ð?i h?c Nông Lâm Thành ph? H? Chí Minh (Univeristy of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City); there website is: www.hcmuaf.edu.vn . There faculty of economics is the equivalent to an Agricultural Economics Faculty or Department in the U.S. and (I suppose) in Canada. If they are like the Hanoi Agriculture University, members of this faculty will have a different economics focus than those economists based at the traditional Economic Universities in Vietnam.

Best of luck,

Stephen J. Leisz
